Typically, to qualify for full-time benefits an employee must be in a position with 64 standard hours per pay period (two week period) or more. Part-time benefits apply to 32 to 63.9 standard hours per pay period. Some benefits may also apply to those less than 32 standard hours per pay period.

Details

HEALTH/LIFE INSURANCES

Group Medical & Dental Plan

Regular employees scheduled to work at least 64 hours per pay period.  Regular employees scheduled to work 32-63 hours per pay period will receive the Group Medical Plan ONLY.*

Employee medical benefits have three (3) coverage options: QCP Standard, PPO and HDHP, plus Delta Dental*.

Section 125 Plan

Regular employees scheduled to work at least 32 hours per pay period.

  • Premium Only - allows you to use your dollars tax-free to pay for premiums under any medical and dental plan sponsored by OSF HealthCare.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts - allows you to pay for certain health care and dependent day care expenses on a tax-free basis.

Employer-paid Life Insurance

Regular employees scheduled to work at least 64 hours per pay period.

Life, accidental death and dismemberment insurance coverage is paid for entirely by OSF.

Kanawha Voluntary Supplemental Life Insurance

Regular employees scheduled to work at least 64 hours per pay period.

Voluntary Supplemental Group Term Life Insurance through Kanawha Insurance Company is an exceptional life insurance program because it offers outstanding insurance protection, low group rates, and convenient payroll deductions (processed twice each month). 

INVESTMENT OPTIONS

Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) - 401(k) Feature

Eligible employees who are at least 21 years of age and have completed 1,000 hours.

Employees contribute a percentage of their salary (up to 50%) to the RSP 401(k) Plan each pay period through convenient pre-tax payroll deductions.

Pension Plan

Eligible employees who are at least 21 years of age and have completed one (1) "Year of Service" as defined by the Plan.

The Sisters of The Third Order of St. Francis Employees Pension Plan is a defined benefit plan designed to provide retirement benefits to vested plan participants and is paid for entirely by OSF.

TIME OFF

Paid Time Off (PTO)

Regular full-time and part-time employees (32 hours or more per pay period).

In order to provide time away from work, OSF offers eligible employees Paid Time Off (PTO). The rate of PTO accrual increases as length of service increases. 

Sick Time

Regular full-time and part-time employees (32 hours or more per pay period).

The Sick Leave Plan of OSF is designed to protect an employee's earnings if he/she is absent from work due to a temporary illness/injury.

Short Term Disability (STD)

Regular employees scheduled to work at least 64 hours per pay period.

The short-term disability program of OSF is designed to protect an employee's earnings if he/she is absent from work due to an eligible extended illness/injury and is paid for entirely by OSF.

Kanawha Voluntary Long Term Disability Insurance

Regular employees scheduled to work at least 64 hours per pay period.

Kanawha Group Long Term Disability (LTD) is an outstanding program offered by OSF. A participating employee would become eligible to receive disability payments under this program 180 days after the onset of his/her disability, subject to all plan provisions.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

CollegeAmerica 529 Savings Plan

All Employees.

CollegeAmerica is a 529 College Investment Plan offered through NatCity Investments, Inc. and professionally managed by the American Funds. Beneficiaries can be children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, friends, and even you.

Tuition Reimbursement

Regular employees scheduled to work at least 64 hours per pay period, pro-rated for employees with standard hours of 32-64 per pay period.

Employees in a 64-hour per pay period position or higher will receive reimbursement at a rate of 100% per submitted expense with a maximum of $3,500 per fiscal year, pro-rated for employees with standard hours of 32-64 per pay period.

Extended Educational Assistance

Regular employees scheduled to work at least 64 hours per pay period, pro-rated for employees with standard hours of 32-64 per pay period.

All benefit-eligible employees may receive extended assistance for participation in the OSF Saint Anthony College of Nursing Bachelor of Science in Nursing education program or Master of Science Nursing education program (in addition to the regular assistance that is otherwise available to eligible employees).  The extended assistance is available in an amount up to $4000 (Bachelor program) or $5000 (Master program) per school semester for eighty (80) hours per pay period employees; employees regularly scheduled for fewer than eighty (80) hours per pay period may be eligible for extended assistance on a pro-rated basis with a minimum schedule of thirty-two (32) hours per pay period.  Extended tuition assistance may be granted to any eligible employee for a maximum of four (4) semesters for the Bachelor's program or six (6) semesters for the Master's program. 

Continuing Education Bank

Regular employees scheduled to work at least 64 hours per pay period.

OSF pays for a monetary amount, credited through a point system, with an annual maximum of up to $240.  This amount may be applied toward approved educational programs or materials related to the employee's present job.  Funds may also be spent on non-job-specific books that are required for the employee's participation in OSF's Educational or Certification Assistance Programs. 

Specialty Certifications

Regular employees scheduled to work at least 64 hours per pay period.

Designed to reward staff and management who strive for excellence in a profession as demonstrated by attaining and maintaining such certification,  employees are eligible to receive assistance of 50% of the cost of one certification exam/renewal fee up to $250 per fiscal year.

A wealth on learning is available through our on-line learning system, Healthstream.  In addition, the Medical Center offers a wide array of training and education sessions on-site.

Concierge Services

All Employees

Your Concierge is available to handle virtually any task you are not able to complete on your own, including errands within a five mile radius from the Medical Center.  Service can include:  dry cleaning, car wash/oil change, food delivery, mailing & shipping services, ticket sales, travel arrangements, gift wrapping, event planning, grocery shopping, will even do in-home coverage for deliveries/service repairs. Etc.

OSF Employee Discounts

All Employees

Employee discounts are provided to OSF HealthCare employees as an employee benefit.  These discounts are provided to OSF HealthCare employees and their direct
family members (spouses and dependent children).  In most cases, the employee must be the actual purchaser of the product or service, and provide proof of OSF employment (ID badge), and be present at the time of the purchase.   Discounted services may include banking, electronics/phones, hotels and recreation, restaurants, auto repair and servicing, etc.

Health Fitness Center

All Employees

For all Employees, a free two-year membership at the OSF Center for Health Fitness is provided upon completion of a confidential Personal Wellness Profile and screening through Employee Health.

Employees in a thirty-two (32) hour per pay period benefited position or greater who do not choose to complete the Personal Wellness Profile and screening, may enroll in the Health Fitness Center within their usual fee structure, and may elect to have the membership fees taken out through payroll deduction.

Employee Assistance Program
