Nursing Excellence Fund

The heart of the OSF Saint Anthony Mission “to serve with the greatest care and love” shows in the faces of our nurses, who each day continue the OSF Saint Anthony tradition of excellence in caring for our community.

So many others recognize the excellence embodied by our nursing professionals. Twice Saint Anthony has been designated a Magnet® Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. This recognition means we provide and encourage ongoing nursing education through the use of evidence-based practice and research. To provide these and other learning opportunities, the Nursing Excellence Fund is being created. 

The Nursing Excellence Fund will be used to secure education supporting nursing care, to advance nursing practices and to provide nurses with the means to strengthen their professional role as direct care providers at OSF Saint Anthony. This fund will allow nurses to do things such as:

• Improve care delivery – design training for the administration of pain medication related to injection sites, resulting in greater comfort for patients.
• Advance nursing practice – teach all staff the latest procedures for managing deep tissue wounds, resulting in faster recovery from serious injury.
• Use evidence to support new projects – research and implement the best ways to prevent patient falls, reducing injuries related to preventable falls.

We are fortunate to have dedicated nursing staff members who are continually seeking ways to improve health care for our patients. Your gift to the Nursing Excellence Fund will secure the means to develop their ideas into programs and improved care procedures.

As a non-profit organization, OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center depends on your generosity to enhance the services that make our hospital the only Magnet facility in Rockford.
